Editorial Information
Grounded Chapters publishes guides for difficult stretches of life. This page explains what our guides are, what they are not, and how we choose and check what goes into them.
What our guides offer
Our guides offer general educational information, reflection and encouragement. They are written for adults, in plain language, to be useful on an ordinary day: to help you understand what you may be feeling, and to suggest small, realistic things you might try.
What they are not
Our guides are not medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial or other professional advice, and they cannot replace care from someone who knows you and your situation. Reading a guide does not create a professional relationship of any kind.
Our first guide, Survival Guide for Newly Single Moms, has not been clinically reviewed, and it says so on its sources page. Grounded Chapters is a publisher, not a clinical service, and we don’t present our guides as clinical or peer-reviewed publications.
If you need help now
If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency number. If you are struggling, a doctor or licensed counselor can help you find the next step. Our first guide lists support lines in several countries on page 33.
How we use sources
Where an idea in a guide draws on research, the page says so in plain words, and the studies are listed at the back. Our first guide also points readers to guidance from public-health and professional organizations, including the WHO, the NHS, NIMH, the American Academy of Pediatrics, AACAP and Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child. Naming an organization or a study means we point readers to its published work. It doesn’t mean that organization has reviewed or endorsed our guide.
Research and services change. The links and phone numbers in our first guide were checked in October 2026, and some may change after that date.
